Reflecting Back & Looking Forward
Approaching the year in peace
Pause with me for a moment: there’s no pressure here. Breath. Let go of your failures from the year. Gently surrender your disappointments. Surrender your anxiety for the New Year and allow yourself to look forward with hope.
Here’s my perspective: sure, there are regrets from 2024. And there’s much I can and want to do in 2025. But there are also many things I cannot do. In my opinion, the best way to reflect back and look forward is to do so prayerfully, allowing the Holy Spirit to provide healing, guidance, and leadership.
I’d love to invite you to use this prayerful, contemplative guide as you process the year and think about the year to come. You don’t have to hold all the answers on your shoulders. Instead, lean into the Holy Spirit’s nearness and go in peace.
Food:
The absolute best ever salad dressing. That’s the official title of a dressing I make every single week. It goes on a Kale salad which I make for our House Church (church small group) dinner every Tuesday. It’s the best. Incredibly flavorful and converts the non-salad eaters into salad eaters. Make it with a fancy dinner, make it with a casual dinner, make it for a crowd, make it for yourself for lunch and top with crispy chickpeas, a boiled egg, and pickled onions. You can’t go wrong!
Books:
In a few days I am going to absolutely bombard you with all my book thoughts from 2024 and my book hopes for 2025! Stay tuned!
Other:
I shared three habits from 2024 that I’m taking into 2025 on a local mom’s blog that I write for: The New Orleans Mom. If that kind of thing interests you, find it here!

Making this salad tonight!
Been doing this guide for years now, Jill. Just finished another one. Thank you!
